Avoid Running On Autopilot

With more time and experience, it’s common to move faster and more efficiently when on a construction job site. However, this can also result in your operating on autopilot, which can be dangerous. So while it can be hard to stay present during every moment of the day while working, doing so can help to ensure that you don’t absentmindedly make a mistake that could result in an injury. 

To help you in doing this, try to have a running checklist in your mind of what you’re doing and what you need to keep your surroundings safe. As you’re just getting started working construction, you should try to only do things that you’re comfortable with. Then, you can get training on how to do this in the future so that you can become more comfortable with any projects you’re asked to take on.
